Audrey's Class at the Planetarium

Audrey's class did their first field trip this year at the Planetarium. They had a great time watching the show, doing a science class and then playing outside at UNC. 

Ryan's Overnight Field Trip

Right before fall break Don and Ryan went on Ryan's overnight field trip to Betsy Jeff Penn center (BJP). I have tasked Don with writing a "guest entry" since I wasn't there. It is forthcoming...

And here it is! It was a great, crazy, fun trip. It was 3 days and 2 nights, which consisted of campfire games, rock climbing, scavenger hunts, songs, and general chaos! Craziest part: will never forget what it is like to feed 100 plus 9-11 year old kids at the same time. :)

Pink Eye...

Don was out of town last week... which meant that everything that could go wrong did. At least in the second half of the week, I got a cold and pink eye, it was rough. I powered through and dragged myself across the finish line of the week. When Don walked through the door I tagged out and didn't really re-emerge until Sunday. Luckily I am starting this next week more well rested and hopefully less crazed!

Kenzie Classroom Observation

I was able to go into Kenzie's classroom and observe while she showed me some of her favorite works. It was a great time and I loved seeing her in her "natural habitat." Kenzie was a great teacher and seemed to really enjoy teaching me how to do her works.  I have scheduled an observation for Ryan's class in a few weeks. 

Fall Break

We did so many things on our week off from school. First we went to Uncle David's house for his birthday and got to hold baby Lucas. 

Then we went to Pullen Park the next day for Don's Company picnic. We rode the train and Mary go round  and ate lots of yummy food.

 Then we rushed home to host the Patriots game against the Panthers (we lost boo) but it was fun having a bunch of people over. Then after the game was done Grandma and Grandpa Mason and Kaylie got to NC so we drove over to hang out with them at their hotel. We spent Sunday-Wednesday going out with them and hanging out.

 We went to the Natural Science Museum in Downtown Raleigh. We hit up the Chicken and Waffles restaurant since we were downtown.

 We went to some parks including North Cary where Ryan got to Pokemon GO gaming in.

 We went to downtown Cary another day. We hung out at the fountain and got fresh made ice cream.

 We did movie nights when we were all tired

 We ate out

 And we hung out at our house, including playing outside and playing board games (even Kenzie lasted for like 45 minutes playing sorry with the big kids)

 After the Grandparents left, the kids and I did a few fun things ourselves. We tried out a different library.

 We went to the mall... the kids were in awe... apparently haven't gone to the mall in years. They each got to get something small. Ryan got a lego set from the lego store. Kenzie got a necklace from the disney store and Audrey got glasses for her American Doll.

 One of Ryan's homework assignments for the break was making his family dinner. He is a pro at scrambled eggs.

 Finally on the last Friday of the break we went to the life and science Museum with the Blouins. It was a great time with great weather and when the Museum was done we hit up Pizza. After we got home from this outing we had the Swartzel family over to play for the afternoon!

Even though we didn't travel this break we certainly filled the time! Now when do we get a vacation from our vacation?
