Trick or Treat

We did something different this year and went to a friends house for Halloween. We had dinner there potluck style and then braved the cold rainy night for some trick or treating. There were a bunch of boys Ryan's age so they immediately ran upstairs and started playing and were pretty much inseparable the whole of the festivities. The good news is that they were all willing to go home to do more playing after only a few houses because my toes were numb after only 2 blocks.

Love this Kid

Ryan is 3 1/2 now... I can't believe it. He is such a little man. He is funny and kind. He is serious and competitive. He loves his friends and family, he is nervous in large groups. He tells people they are his best friends and that he loves them. He is sweet to his sister (for the most part) and he tries to take care of her and teach her what he thinks she should know so she can be a "big girl."  He loves computer games and playing outside. He is a wonderful kid and we are lucky to have him!

Halloween Party

We went to a Halloween party last night at one of our close friends houses. They love Halloween and go above an beyond every year so it has become something we really look forward to. They even made Ryan dairy free chocolate cupcakes!

 Little Bumble Bee

Pirate Ship with the "brothers"... these two boys act more like siblings then they do with their actual siblings.. they compete over everything, and yet when it comes down to it they always choose to hangout together.

 Gourd Bowling

 Eating... Again

Audrey loves the thought of dogs... when they actually come within 4 feet of her she changes her tune. This was her reaction to the dog the entire night.

Winter Approaching

Yesterday it was 80 degrees, today it was 50 and rainy... Audrey generally hates the cold and didn't want to go outside all morning. By the afternoon however she had had enough and after putting on many layers (she chose the hat) she was ready to play out on the porch. She is going to have to get use to it with winter rapidly approaching!

Little Mama

Audrey loves baby dolls, she holds them and rubs there backs and really tries to mother them (she has even learned the word "baby" so she can call them something when she is talking to them). Today while we were out I showed Audrey a baby doll at the store. She fell instantly in love. The baby cries, which she has never seen a doll do before. When it cried the first time she was so overwhelmed with sadness that she cuddled that baby and tried to calm it down for the rest of the shopping trip (This is how she convinced me to buy it). Her and Ryan have been taking turns taking care of the baby all morning- it's very cute and they are acting very responsibly.

Fall Festival

Ryan's school had their annual fall festival yesterday. I swear Audrey had more fun then anyone else at the school, maybe because it was new and different or maybe because she really wants to go to to school like her big brother. She did every activity, luckily my mom stopped by for a few minutes to watch Ryan since he wasn't nearly as into the activities. It was a good time but a lot of work for me since my mom was only there for a really short time and me helping both kids with all the different activities (and lugging around all the art projects they were making) was a little crazy.

15 Month Appointment

Audrey is 15 months old, okay I admit she is 15 months and 2 weeks but close enough! We had her doctors appointment today and she did great. She's healthy and a total handful.

She is:
30 1/2 inches tall which is 50%
21lbs 4.5 oz which is 25%
47 1/2 cm  Head Circumference 75-90%

She is right on track developmentally, the only thing she doesn't do is shake her head yes and no... but she says them so that's probably the reason.  She says daddy, mommy, Audrey, doggy, hat, hot, hi, bye, thanks, yes (she might say more but this is what I can think of at the moment).

School Pictures

Ryan had his school pictures taken today and this time they allowed Audrey to get in on the action. They both did so well I decided to come home and take a few to see if I could get some of that cooperation. While I think these came out pretty well I'm excited to see the pictures the photographer got!

State Fair 2011

We had a great morning at the State Fair! Audrey ate everything (a girl after my own heart) she had an entire ham biscuit, part of a funnel cake, part of an Italian sausage and then had lunch in the car on the way home. Ryan LOVED the petting zoo and the fountain, he also went on his very fist fair ride (he asked me about 4 times before he got on if it was the slow ride, he just wanted to make sure). The older the kids get the more fun these activities become.
