10 Days Until 3

In 10 days Kenzie will be 3, she is really excited, she is even having a party this year with her friends! These crowns are the party favors, she needed to test them out :)

Scouts with heART

Last weekend a group from Audrey's girl scout troop went to deliver homemade Valentine's Day cards to a local nursing home. It was a great experience for everyone and the girls really enjoyed it. The residents really liked seeing the kids and really appreciated have someone pop in and say hello.

A Day Audrey's Class

Every Tuesday I go into Audrey's class and volunteer as a reading buddy. I take out the kids one at a time and have them read to me. It's a lot of fun and I like to see what else is going on in the classroom. Last Tuesday they were playing board games that they created.

Science Fair

Ryan and Audrey both participated in the lower elementary science fair at school. Ryan did an experiment where he put chicken bones in vinegar until they became bendy and Audrey did an experiment where eggs were placed in vinegar until their shells disintegrated. It was a lot of hard work but I think they both learned something and it is nice to participate in school events!

Kenzie is a Goofball

This is a good example of Kenzie's personality. I asked her to smile for the camera... and this is a series of what I got.

After School Activities

I feel like we are in a mad house of after school activities right now. Kenzie and Audrey started dance class this week. Kenzie is doing tap/ ballet and Audrey is doing Hip Hop/ Acro. Ryan is finishing up basketball and Audrey and Ryan have swim lessons once a week. Next week Ryan starts after school math tutoring. Most of these things are short sessions (6 weeks) Let's hope we survive until Spring!

Ryan Basketball

Ryan is playing a short session of basketball. He had never played organized basketball before so we didn't want to over commit him with something too long. He LOVES it though. He is learning a lot and it wears him out!

Work Trip to Austin

I went on my first ever work trip (I love work trips because they pay for the ticket). Austin was awesome and the conference (CASE-NAIS) was great. It was nice to hear from other people who do my job at different schools and what is working with their programs.

Little Sisters

Younger siblings tend to spend a lot of time waiting at classes/ leagues for their older siblings. This picture is of Ryan and Tyler's little sisters waiting for their big brothers at basketball practice.

35th Birthday

It was my 35th Birthday a few weeks ago (can you tell we have been busy around here?). I had a super fun night out with Don- we stayed in a hotel in Raleigh and went to Cowfish (a sushi/burger restaurant). The kids made me cards and then the next week Leigh and I went to the VERY fancy Umstead Spa and spent the day lounging and drinking fruit infused water (She also got me this very fitting sweatshirt and a bottle of wine).
