March Pictures

I couldn't figure out a good blog entry to do with these pictures but I love them so here they are:

Day at the Museum

Last Wednesday (yes I am kinda behind in posting) daddy took the day off work and we headed to a science museum. This might be Ryan's new favorite place on earth. Here are some of the pictures of the day, we lucked out and the weather was great. When we finally headed home Ryan was so tired that he was asleep by the time we left the parking lot, a sign of a very good time had.

Questions for Ryan

Questions for Ryan:

Q: Who is your best friend? Daddy
Q: Favorite person to go to the park with? Grandma
Q: Favorite Color? Green
Q: Favorite Animal? Elephant
Q: Favorite Food? Yogurt
Q: Favorite Book? Thomas the Train
Q: How old is mom? 3, How old is Dad? 2, How old is Audrey? 40
Q: What do you want to do for your birthday? Eat Cupcakes
Q: What does your teacher say? "Time for Lunch!"

It's fun to ask questions like this, it's always amazing to see how his brain is working.

Speaking

Audrey is starting to communicate! She says "Dada" and at times she says "Hi"... she also gabs a lot which is very different then what Ryan did. Such a girl, I can see large phone bills in my future.

She also does something very cute. She is very shy when around new people, but usually after a few minutes she warms up. You can tell that she is ready to accept you when she reaches out her hand towards you. It isn't that she wants you to hold her, it is that she wants you to touch her fingers, it is her way of telling you she accepts you.

I have a feeling in a few months her language is really going to take off, I hope one of the next ones to come is mama!

Video: Ryan as Cowboy

Here is an example of the amount of energy Ryan has... he has been playing this now for about an hour. Halfway through you will here him pretend to give me chocolate (a subtle hint that he wants me to return the favor with REAL chocolate).

A Day of Pictures

The temperature is 80 degrees today so we are taking full advantage. Here are some pictures of our fun!

Yes, that is Audrey standing by herself!

You can see her first tooth in this one!

No Socks

Some of you might have noticed that Audrey never wears socks, no matter how cold it is... here is my answer as to why. This picture was taken 30 seconds after I put on her socks.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

First Tooth

Audrey's first tooth came through! I swear she has been teething for months, but apparently now was the time. Want to know how she celebrated? By getting an ear infection. So the celebration is on hold while we recover from this... I can tell you for sure this household is ready for Spring.

Techno Babies

The speed at which technology is improving lately is really amazing- my kids are growing up assuming people have always had smart phones and GPS's. Ryan assumes that everything is a touch screen- and that everything is as easy as an iPhone- a few swipes of your finger and you can do whatever you want. Here is a picture of Audrey trying to figure out how to play one of Ryan's games on the iPad:
I'm lucky I married a technology guy because honestly I'm pretty sure my kids will be more technologically savvy then me by the time they are 8- we need someone to be able to keep up with them.

Police Scanner

Ryan has many skills. I think the most interesting one is that he can spot a police car better then anyone I know. The skill extends to undercover cops. Today we were coming up on a car and Ryan said "police car"... I couldn't see it, it was just a regular car. Then as we pulled up by it I saw that it had the state plate, a few extra antenna and a cop driving. I have no idea how he does it, but when driving it's always nice to have my own personal police scanner.

Hockey

One of the joys of changing seasons is that you can RE-introduce seasonal toys and they seem brand new. Last year for his birthday Ryan got a hockey set, now that the weather is getting better we decided to pull it out and he loves it even more now then he did then. He wants to play ALL THE TIME. I have even given in and set it up inside on the days it is too cold to play outside.

Feeding Herself

There are a few milestones with babies that immediately make your life easier. One that I have been looking forward to finally happened today. Audrey FED HERSELF the bottle! She has also recently learned how to go from laying down to sitting. I feel like she is going through a big developmental growth spurt this week... maybe she will even get the crawl down.
